Santorini Travel Guide

Greeted by sweeping dramatic ocean views, Santorini was love at first site and the perfect destination for a couples getaway. The Island had all of my favorites things: fine dining, boat excursions, wine tours and picturesque views. It’s local charm and beauty made Santorini an unforgettable experience.

To Stay.

Canaves Oia Epitome- We stayed here and honestly, look no further. This hotel was unreal. We never wanted to leave. On the northern part of the cosmopolitan town of Oia in Santorini, lies hidden a well-kept secret. EPITOME is located right out of the main town, above the picturesque fishing town of Ammoudi. A serene location awaits those who are ready to experience Santorini from another per-spective. Relish the sunset, admire the views and feel the dreamy and relaxing ambience that EPITOME comes to offer.

Astra Suites: A handful of people we know, have stayed here. Perched atop the stunning volcanic cliffs of Santorini and resembling traditional Cycladic dwellings, the Astra Suites are situated in the peaceful village of Imerovigli. With panoramic vistas of the caldera and Aegean Sea, as well as unparalleled views of the famous Santorini sunset, Astra Suites is proud to offer you a personal island paradise.

Katikies: Uber romantic hotel. The awe inspiring view to the caldera and the azure sea from all luxury suites, the sublime Santorini sunsets and perfectly manicured pink bougainvilleas provide the magnificent backdrop for this perennially gleaming, glistening white luxury hotel that spills down the cliffs of the magical Caldera. A luxury hotel rightfully regarded as one of the best hotels in Oia Santorini for its bespoke services and high-end accommodation options..

Mystique: Carved into the rugged Caldera cliffs, Mystique, a Luxury Collection Hotel, overlooks the turquoise expanse of the Aegean Sea that encircles the island of Santorini.

To Eat.

Athenian House: Incredible food and even better views. The restaurant situated in Imerovigli Santorini, combines the experience of a relaxed fine dining restaurant, with a breathtaking view over the famous Skaros Rock, recognized worldwide as one of the most romantic and dramatic sunset spots on the island caldera.

Seaside by Notos: Delicious food and the best beach vibes. Go for lunch and plan to stay for the beach.

Sunset Amoudi: Probably the best sunset we will ever watch. Make a dinner reservation 45 minutes before sunset to enjoy all the restaurant has to offer.

Ambrosia: A restaurant situated at the cliff top village of Oia. One of the best and most famous restaurants in Santorini. Enjoy a candlelight dinner on the panorama terrace overlooking the famous Caldera.

Black Rock: Greek food with a contemporary twist. We loved this!

Additional places/hotels/restaurants we wanted to visit (recommended by friends), but didn’t have time:

  • Oozora

  • La Maison

  • Dimitris Taverna

  • 1800s

To DO.

Hike: Unfortunately, we slept in while our friends hiked! Nonetheless, still want to share… The Fira-Oia Hike takes you along the caldera cliff and through the villages of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia. The hike takes between 2 and 5 hours depending on how fast you walk and how often you stop.

Boat Tour: Because… is it really an island vacation if you don’t go on a boat tour?
