NYC's Best Pizza

If there’s one cuisine that New York City is known for, it’s undoubtedly a killer slice of pizza. Lately, I’ve been dreaming of NYC pizza and it has me wanting to go on a Pizza Tour! Who wants in?!

Fashion Ambitionist Pizza

After living in NYC for a decade, I’ve rounded up some of the best pizza places that have made their way to the top of my list. Read on for the best pizza spots not only in The Big Apple but of all time — seriously.

Artichoke Basille’s Pizza: For those late-night pizza cravings, Artichoke Basille’s Pizza has you covered. I recommend grabbing a slice of their vodka pizza, the crab, and of course, the avocado. Forewarning this place can be hit or miss, but when it hits, its a top spot!

Emily: With a wood-burning oven and mozzarella made from scratch, Emily’s has a rustic and homey vibe that you won’t find anywhere else. They make a curated menu of “red” and “white” pies that always hit the spot.

Emmet’s: Opened by native Chicagoan Emmet Burke, Emmet’s specializes in Chicago style pizza. I know, I know this is New York, but this spot made me a believer in the Chi-Town slice. Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me!

Emmy Squared: Founded in Williamsburg Brooklyn, Emmy Squared serves up Detroit style pies with quality ingredients, a square shape, fluffy dough, and their signature cheesy “frico” crust. Cue the drool.

Gnocco: If you’re a thin crust purist, Gnocco is your dream come true. The atmosphere is cute and the pizza is always cooked just right.

Joe’s Pizza: Established in 1975 by Joe Pozzuoli, who is originally from Naples, Italy, the birthplace of pizza, Joe's Pizza has been cooking up the classic New York slice for over 37 years. You cannot miss this spot!

Joe & Pat’s Pizzeria: Another long-standing NYC staple, Joe & Pat’s serves up classic Neopolitan pies and an extensive authentic Italian menu. Get their vodka pizza or their famous “Tri-Pie” with a mix of pesto, tomato, and vodka sauce.

L&B Spumoni Gardens: While it is a bit of a trek to get to this spot, it’s totally worth it for a slice of their thick Sicilian pies. The dough is fluffy but crisp and the ingredients are always super fresh. *Note: this is the only pizza place on the list located in Brooklyn. There are dozens more in BK- but this is my husband’s favorite slice of all time. He’s been eating here since he was in Middle School. So it needed to be included on this NYC list.

Lombardi’s: Besides the mouthwatering classic NYC pizza, Lombardi’s claim to fame is that they are America’s first pizzeria. They’ve been around for well over 100 years and for good reason. Stop here if you’re looking for a true NYC slice.

Loring Place: While this may not jump out at you as a well-known pizza spot in NYC, they do make a mean pizza pie. Show up with a big appetite for brunch and get pizza as an appetizer.

Prince Street Pizza: When I think about Prince Street Pizza, it brings back memories of some of the best Sicilian pizza I’ve ever had in my life. Stop by and see for yourself.

Rubirosa Ristorante: This adorable Italian eatery has some of my favorite vodka and tie-dye pizza. Stop by for chill date night or grab a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Scarr’s Pizza: Scarr’s is a little retro pizza place on the Lower East Side with traditional New York slices and subs. This crowd favorite is perfect for a casual and delicious slice of pizza.

Vezzo: Thin crust lovers rejoice! Vezzo handmakes some of the thin and crispy crust pizzas you can find in NYC. It’s a cute casual spot that’s great for a daytime hangout or a night on the town.

Did we miss any of your NYC favorites? Send us a note or leave a comment- we’d love to consider adding to this list! xx
